Gauri Adelkar is an Indian writer and director based in Los Angeles. A former electrical engineer who worked in high tech in Boston's Route 128 "Silicon Valley East" corridor, she received her MFA in screenwriting & directing at Columbia University, where she was the 2018 recipient of the Breaking Barriers Award for Female Directors.

Adelkar is currently a writing mentee to Chitra Sampath (TRUTH BE TOLD, SOUTHLAND) as part of the inaugural SALON MENTORSHIP PROGRAM, which supports the next generation of South Asian creatives in Hollywood. In 2020, Adelkar was the only participant selected by FILM INDEPENDENT as a Writer/Director Project Involve fellow and a finalist for Tribeca's THROUGH HER LENS program.

Adelkar's film 'THE LITTLE GODDESS' was shortlisted for the 2019 BAFTA student film awards and won the Breaking Boundaries Prize at the Academy Qualifying Rhode Island International Film Festival. Her work has screened globally at venues such as the Hamptons International Film Festival, Athens International Video & Film Festival, and New York Women in Film & Television Immigrant Series.

Adelkar recently completed production on her film starring Kalieaswari Srinivasan ('DHEEPAN,' 2015 Cannes Palme d'Or). She is currently developing a TV series  and writing a commissioned feature which she is attached to direct.
